Revamping and redesigning a website takes time and thought, but there are several good reasons to go through the process – besides the obvious aesthetic ones.
A redesign forces one to review all of the content in the website’s pages to make sure it is still relevant. What’s outdated and needs to be updated? What’s missing? What links and resources should be added?
It also offers a valuable opportunity to review and test the site from the perspective of visitors – some of who may be potential clients and many of who may be challenged in one or more ways. Accessibility is an important priority at DASO, and that extends to our website and other communications vehicles.
That’s why we’re pleased to have selected the highly rated BrowseAloud text-to-speech utility for the new site. In addition to enabling visitors to have the website copy read aloud to them, features include the ability to adjust text size for easier readability, and translate copy into a wide array of languages.
It’s a work in progress – as all good websites should be – and we continue to welcome and encourage feedback in order to ensure our website meets the needs of the diverse members of our community.
