As in previous years, the people living and working in the communities of Oxford continue to demonstrate their incredible caring and generosity. And this is especially evident during the Christmas holiday season. Domestic Abuse Services Oxford has already been the recipient of many cash donations in addition to lots of needed items for those living in our 21-bed shelter for women, children and teens impacted by domestic abuse and/or homelessness – those who come to us seeking shelter and support in making the transition to healthy, safer and happier lives from free from violence and abuse.
We are so grateful to all our supporters and friends who help us help. We couldn’t offer our range of essential programs and services without you! Thank you to the many individuals, families, businesses, organizations, churches and women’s groups who give financial donations and also give food and gifts for those living in our shelter and others in community-based programming who are part of the DASO “family.”Words can’t express our deep gratitude and appreciation. You do make a difference in the lives of many!
On another note, if you look back in the Executive Director’s blogs on our website you’ll find a posting from December 2016 also titled “Baby It’s Cold Outside.” We don’t want to brag, but two years ago we were well in front of the current wave of discussion about this song! Please look back at this blog post if you want to know what we at DASO think about the song. Meanwhile, please enjoy these two alternate versions of Baby It’s Cold Outside, one that we shared two years ago, and a more recent remake:
And all is once again right with the new world order…Merry Chris…er, um, HAPPY HOLIDAYS! “Baby It’s Cold Outside” remake.
