24-hour Crisis Line
The 24-hour crisis telephone line, 519-539-4811/1-800-265-1938, is available to women in Oxford
County who are in crisis, or who need help, support and advice about an issue involving domestic
abuse. It is also open to anyone in the community who has questions about abuse or is concerned
about a friend, family member, neighbour or co-worker.
Safe, short-term accommodation is available at our 21-bed shelter for women and their children who are impacted by domestic abuse and/or homelessness. We are open 24 hours,
seven days a week, 365 days a year and staff are always available to talk. The building is wheelchair
accessible and has bedrooms and a bathroom unit for the disabled. There are indoor and outdoor children's
play areas. Residents receive individual support, meals, information and referrals. Transportation within Oxford
County can be arranged.
Women's Transitional and Housing Support Program
Our Women's Transitional Workers help women overcome the barriers they face starting a life free of
abuse by proving advocacy, goal planning, safety planning and assistance with housing applications.
They are available to meet with women either at the shelter or in their own community within

Sexual Assault Counselling and Support
Individual, confidential support for women 16 and over who have been sexually abused. Clients may be self-referred. For an appointment call 519-539-7488 ext. 226.
Women's Support Groups
Weekly meetings offer confidential support, information and strategies for positive change. Open to all women who are experiencing abuse or who have been abused in the past. Participants share feelings, concerns and fears with one another and learn about the issues and available options. To learn more, contact the group facilitator at 519-539-7488 ext. 234.
Support and information related to abuse and unhealthy relationships is available to women living anywhere within Oxford County including regularly scheduled counselling sessions at the Livingston Centre in Tillsonburg and at Community Employment Services in Ingersoll. Children's/Teen's Support Groups
Journeys, a program for children exposed to violence in the home, helps children and adolescents aged 4 to 15 deal with the effects of their mother being abused. Topics include anger control, conflict resolution and self-esteem. Mothers attend their own support group at the same time. Assistance with transportation and childcare can be arranged. Violence Education and Prevention Programs
Presentations to schools, businesses, churches and other community groups on topics pertaining to domestic abuse and healthy versus unhealthy relationships. Call 519-539-7488 ext. 225.
